Picerne Privatized Military Housing Fort Meade Video

This is our living condition at Fort Meade. Water started leaking from the living room wall 5 days ago for the second time. First time was last year. First day we had to call twice to have someone come over to tell us there is nothing he can do right now. All he did was turn over the carpet and said he will let the supervisor know first thing in the morning. Second day, nobody showed up so we called again and the person showed up with an industrial fan to dry the carpet. We had to keep the loud fan on all afternoon and evening in a living room. Over the weekend they couldn't do anything. We were expecting someone to come over Monday to fix it so we were not home all day. 3pm we came home and nothing was done. We called them again and the person answered the phone had no clue what we were talking about. Finally they sent maintenance supervisor but he did totally nothing and told us he will come back with a carpet guy tomorrow. For the past 5 days, carpet has been turned over and nails were exposed as you can see. My daughter stepped on them but luckily she wasn't hurt badly. We told people at housing office about nails but they did nothing.
Picerne does not care about our living condition or safety. They apologize but never sincere. Old stove which some of the burner doesn't work, cabinets and windows which were painted over and over again so that they are hard to open and paint falls, we had another leak before which made us live without water for 24 hours... We had to call maintenance at least 10 different occasions in a past 1 1/2 year. They will never come the first time we call so we have to call so many times to remind them. And everytime we call they have no clue what we are talking about. So we have to explain over and over again. My husband is leaving on deployment soon and I do not feel comfortable being left behind in this old house with our 2 years old daughter. We do not deserve to live in a place like this while my husband serves in the military.

Yup, That is military housing for you. I was stationed at Ft. Lewis in WA, As well as Ft. Bliss in TX, Ive lived in 4 houses. 2 at each stations, They treat us like crap. As long as we have a roof, Thats all they care. And they take our whole BAH, Thats around $800/month for those? crappy houses. We invested $2000 into the house to make it livable. Horrible.

Does anyone know if the current living conditions have improved at Fort Meade? This video is a few years old and the? website for family housing "claims" to have tore down 500 old homes and rebuilt in their place as well remodeled and updated many of the others. How much is this correct? Can someone confirm their claims?

we just started dealing with them here at APG... the guys not joined with Picerne are still in charge of the heating... have been attempting to fix it now for ... this is the third day.. banging around upstairs now. They also mutilated my tree and garden in front? of the house.. didn't announce it.. showed up with chain saws... yea.. but they are not as back as the new housing that took over Dix yet... It's freezing in here!!

I'm certainly not disagreeing with ya, cuase it looks like you got a pretty s**tty house, but even the old homes (Classics) here at Rucker have been reno'd to make them at least liveable until they get all the new ones built. P.S. They just opened up the First Neighborhood Center here on Rucker, and I think I'm in love. It's not in my neighborhood, but it's close enough me and my family were able to spend all day today at the pool enjoying the perks? of base housing.

We live on Meade now and have a 2 page typed list of everything wrong with our house and we have only lived here 3 weeks.. Terrible? workmenship.

I'll be taking my ...
I'll be taking my own stove, dryer and washer, and fridge when I move... I got all brand new stuff, if me and m family get stuck in a place like you have... I'll just paint the walls. Looks like it isn't all that bad besides the leaks, I would just paint the whole place, get the leaks fixed and clean everything bottom to top. I would be fairly anoyed if I get stuck in a s**thole but if I do we'll make the best of it untill we get something? better, if all else fails ill live off base.

wow the older houses on ft.hood sure ain't that bad. they are actually getting alot of newer 2 story housing. i'm sorry to hear about this place. frankly i hope i don't end up? at that base O___o

SO the Picerne Management company got a hold of my video and? are coming tomorrow to look at and "fix" my house. Three of the head people are coming. We will see how it goes.

Yeah, I'm posting again. I lived on 2nd Army before the ren. I have just been in one on 2nd Army and man, it's still F-cked up but not as bas as when I was there before the had us move to ren the place. I dont like the idea of paying 2000 and living next door? to someone who pays 1100 for the exact same place. I hope to PCS to our dream sheet base and buy a house. It's not reasonable to buy in MD for us. You have no land or yard.

I used to live in an area called mills court in forte meade (navy housing) about 7 years ago and i don't remember it being that bad. I actually miss it there, but it? was my childhood so maybe that's why! I do know my parents didn't like it tho...

Honestly, that place looks in far better shape than the one I had when I lived on base...and I actually *liked* mine. I only moved to collect BAH. Not to say that servicemembers should tolerate deficient conditions. Work through your unit to press? upon Picerne to move you to a nicer unit, if need be.

Honestly, I used to live on Ft. Meade at the house in this vid looks in better shape than mine was and I *liked* my unit and only moved off-base to pocket some BAH. If it's really that bad in your place, you need to have your unit press upon the base commander and Picerne to move you elsewhere. But suffice to say, I've seen worse homes off-base.? Now, maintenance on the other hand, was always atrociously slow so no arguments there.

We don't get to choose our housing. The housing for the junior enlisted is horrible and their maintenance staff is a joke. They are? renovating but they are very slow at it. And this video doesn't mention the constant power outages.

maybe some one already mentioned this, but if it is privatized you should contact the base Commander. That company is being paied to keep up and renovate the housing, that is not ok, you should not have to live like? that.

I bet these homes where the real deal back in the 40s. Life is hard enough on military families. You shouldnt have to worry about living conditions. I dont suppose contacting your state representative will help?? It might be worth a try.

Wow... I hope they have fixed it by now because? were about to go look at housing there. God. Ft. Belvoir is just as bad unless you get a new house.

wow! i lived on fort meade about 8 years ago in the town houses on letty st. (something? like that) and they werent bad at all. You should look into trying to get one of those if you can.

Picerne is a disgrace! We live in Ft.Riley and since moving in have had a gas leak which causes the home to smell horrible. Maintenance has been over 3 times and still hasnt fixed it.Also Our apt is infested with roaches!!! We waited 7 months to move? into this s**t hole.

We are on Fort Meade (aka Ft s**thole) too. Your house is actually a little nicer then ours. I DEPISE this place. It's a disgrace to military families to be stuck here. I don't even invite family to visit because I? am embarassed.

We live on Fort Meade Or Fort Falling-apart as I call it. It's digusting. We have had nothing but problems since we moved in. Burst sewer pipes in our front yard spewing feces, urine & toilet paper that took THREE WEEKS to fix! Broken toilet and sink, ants in the carpet that isn't even secured down, the stairs are starting to split,? the oven smokes, the washer backs up and floods. They told us to get another place I have to be 6 months pregnant.

Yes, Fort Meade is? terrible. Someone should contact the Base Commander with this, but he prob does not give a hoot. Oh, how many times can you cut grass in one spot??? The lawn care peopel will spend hours in an area of 10x10.
